2026 Ford Mustang®: From 315 hp to a Rather Wild 795 hp
The 2026 Ford Mustang® has developed quite a range. At one end is a 315 hp Turbocharged EcoBoost® that's entirely capable of behaving itself. At the other is the new 795 hp Dark Horse® SC, which rather clearly has different priorities. Between them are naturally aspirated V8-powered GT models, the 500 hp Dark Horse®, convertible configurations, and several new performance and appearance packages. For drivers around Woodstock, VA, there's now a Mustang® for almost every interpretation of rear-wheel-drive American performance.
Three Engines and One Enormous Performance Range
The Mustang® EcoBoost® uses a 2.3L Turbocharged 4-cylinder producing 315 hp and 350 lbs. ft. of torque through a 10-speed automatic. GT models replace it with a naturally aspirated 5.0L Ti-VCT V8 producing 480 hp and 415 lbs. ft. of torque, or 486 hp and 418 lbs. ft. of torque with the available active valve performance exhaust. A 6-speed manual with rev matching is standard on GT, while a 10-speed automatic is available. Dark Horse® modifies the Gen-4 5.0L Coyote™ V8 for 500 hp and 418 lbs. ft. of torque, pairing it with a standard 10-speed automatic or available TREMEC® 6-speed manual. Then things become considerably less restrained: the Dark Horse® SC uses a hand-assembled Supercharged 5.2L cross-plane-crank V8 producing 795 hp and 660 lbs. ft. of torque through a TREMEC® 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
New Packages Give the Mustang® More Personality
Adriatic Blue Metallic, Orange Fury Metallic Tri-coat, and Avalanche Gray join the 2026 color selection, accompanied by new available seatbelt colors including International Orange and Prime Blue. The new FX Package for GT Premium Fastback and Convertible models looks backward for inspiration, using Oxford White-painted wheels and badging, white taillamps, and plaid-pattern leather-trimmed seats inspired by Fox Body Mustangs. EcoBoost® Fastback buyers get something rather different with the available Mustang® RTR® Package, which adds Ford-patented anti-lag technology, GT Performance Package Brembo™ brakes with 15.3-inch front rotors and 6-piston front calipers, Dark Horse® chassis components, an electronic drift brake, active valve performance exhaust, and an RTR-specific stability-control calibration.
Dark Horse® SC Is Where Things Get Serious
Managing 795 hp requires considerably more than fitting a larger engine and hoping for the best. Dark Horse® SC uses the latest generation of MagneRide® damping and Variable Traction Control, along with an aluminum hood incorporating a large carbon-fiber vent for cooling and aerodynamic management. The available Track Pack adds 20-inch carbon-fiber wheels, Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, Michelin® Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires, additional carbon-fiber aerodynamic components, and a rear-seat delete, cutting approximately 150 pounds compared with the standard Dark Horse® SC. A limited Track Pack Special Edition goes further with unique graphics, Race Red Brembo brake calipers, Solar Red RECARO® sport seats, and 3D-printed titanium details derived from the Mustang GTD program.
The Cockpit Has Gone Thoroughly Digital
The 2026 Mustang® offers a 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster and 13.2-inch center touchscreen, with select configurations offering a magnesium-framed panoramic curved display that integrates both screens beneath one piece of glass. Ford Co-Pilot360® technology is standard across the lineup, while the available Ford Connectivity Package can provide an unlimited Wi-Fi® hotspot for up to 10 devices along with connectivity for Connected Navigation, voice assistance, and audio streaming. It's a thoroughly modern environment surrounding a car that, in GT form, still allows you to operate a naturally aspirated V8 with a manual transmission.
Only 550 TLD Signature Editions Will Be Built
The limited-production TLD Signature Edition gives the EcoBoost® Premium an entirely different character. Production is limited to 550 units, with each receiving GT-derived hood, fascia, and grille components alongside Troy Lee-designed graphics, Sinister Bronze details, a Carmine Red interior, and a serialized instrument-panel badge. It doesn't turn the EcoBoost® into a GT, nor is that the idea. Instead, it gives the turbocharged Mustang® a visual identity all its own.
